Kalie graduated from the University of New South Wales in Australia, and worked in marketing for over ten years. After Kalie gave birth to her second child in 2017, she was shocked to see that her belly was still as big as it was when she was 7 – 8 months pregnant, even after 4 months postpartum. She was afraid that it would be difficult for her to return to her prenatal figure after giving birth. At the time, she was already aware of Malaysian traditional belly binding treatments during confinement care, so she decided to do some research. After inquiring around however, she found that the average price of such treatments in Hong Kong cost about HK$40,000 - 60,000. Some companies even went so far as to charge over HK$100,000 for the treatment, which was unreasonably exorbitant.

Luckily, Kalie's Malaysian friend introduced her to Tanamera, a renowned Malaysian brand of spa, personal care and traditional postpartum belly treatments.

As a breastfeeding mother, Kalie was very careful about the products that she used. She was afraid that using the wrong products would harm her Baby. She was relieved to find that Tanamera products uses all natural ingredients and are free of preservatives, artificial perfume and colouring. The products are also free of animal testing, are GMP factory-manufactured and ISO certified, and safe for breastfeeding mothers.

After getting to know the owner of Tanamera, she learnt the correct method of abdominal binding, and it helped her greatly in improving her diastasis recti (the separation of rectus abdominis muscles after childbirth). Having seen firsthand what this treatment can do, Kalie wanted to share her discovery with mothers in Hong Kong. She decided to introduce the brand here, and even created a video tutorial to demonstrate the Tanamera abdominal binding technique on herself. Instead of spending on expensive treatments with little to no results, Hong Kong mothers can now learn to bind their own bellies in the comfort of their own home. After giving birth in the UK in 2017, Kalie herself did abdominal binding treatments in her own home, and the results were evident.

After returning to Hong Kong, Kalie received constant inquiries from mothers regarding Tanamera’s traditional abdominal binding treatment service. So there and then, she decided to open a treatment centre right here in Hong Kong, and invited Tanamera’s Chief Instructor to train the therapists at Herbal Senses. Ever since, mothers can now finally get to experience and enjoy authentic Malaysian abdominal binding treatments at affordable prices in Hong Kong.

Over the past few years, Kalie has continued to grow her credentials, taking various internationally-recognized courses and obtaining qualifications from internationally-recognized professional therapists and tutors. With her years of experience and professional knowledge, Kalie leads her team of therapists to provide professional prenatal and postpartum services to mothers in need.
